Kaikala meets YSR
Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana called on Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday, sparking off rumours of his possible entry into the Congress.
The multi-faceted actor, who also served a stint as a TDP Lok Sabha member from Machilipatnam, met Dr. Reddy at the camp office here. While Mr. Satyanarayana refused to entertain questions about his entry into the ruling party, speculation is rife that he may consider doing so shortly.
After keeping away from the TDP, he recently tendered his resignation from that party. If Mr Satyanarayana joins the Congress, he will be the second film star after Sharada to have quit the main opposition party and entered the Congress.
Meanwhile, Khairatabad MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy along with his mother Sulochana and sister Vijaya called on Dr. Reddy. Sources said the family members of the former CLP leader, P. Janardhan Reddy, wanted the Congress to give due recognition to them in the general elections.
Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy is said to have sought the ticket for the Jubilee Hills constituency for himself and the ticket for the Khairatabad seat to his sister Ms. Vijaya. They later met APCC president D. Srinivas also.
