VIZIANAGARAM:
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will participate in a number of inaugurations at Bobbili on February 20. He will unveil the statue of Vasireddy Krishna Murty Naidu, former irrigation minister, near Bobbili railway station, beautification works of parks etc.
He will also address public at Raja College grounds. Collector G. Ram Narayana Reddy, Parvathipuram RDO P. Prasanthi and other officials are inspecting the arrangements, according to Congress sources.

The Vijayawada unit of Andhra Pradesh Mudiraj Mahasabha has hailed the shift of ‘Mudiraj’ community from Backward Class D to Backward Class A. Vijayawada City Mudiraj Association general secretary Pilli Murali in a statement thanked Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy for taking up the cause of the community and not resting till the group was changed from D to A.
YSR statement on direction of high command’
HYDERABAD:
All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary M. Veerappa Moily said Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy had made a statement on constitution of joint house committee to study Telangana statehood issue on the direction of the party high command.
“The joint house committee is aimed at sorting out irritants, if any, and pave way for creation of a separate State,” Mr. Moily told reporters after a meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee here on Friday.
APCC president D. Srinivas clarified that the joint house committee would give suggestion for the formation of Telangana State only.
He ridiculed the argument put forth by the Opposition parties that the entire exercise was eyewash. “If these parties have any commitment to the statehood issue, they should join the committee and give suggestions,” he said.
YSR coming today
ELURU:
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy is scheduled to undertake a whirlwind visit in West Godavari district on Saturday.
Dr. Reddy is poised to make the visit hardly a fortnight after kicking off a poll campaign from Mogalturu, the ancestral village of PRP president Chiranjeevi.
According to an official press release, the Chief Minister will arrive at Penumantra and take part in a string of official programmes which included inauguration of a mineral water plant, laying of a foundation stone for modernisation of Yanamadurru drain at Pippara and for a drinking water scheme at Ganapavaram. He will interact with the public at Penumantra, Attili, Pippara, Uppuluru, Undi, Akiveedu en route his road shows.
Later, he will also address roadside gatherings at three different places in Eluru.
