YSR offers prayers at Tirumal
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday offered prayers at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara, Tirumala.
Dr. Reddy, who chose to have the darshan like any other commoner, reached the main entrance of the temple – ‘Mahadwaram’ through the Vaikuntam queue complex.
On his arrival at the temple complex, he was received with the traditional temple honours by the temple priests in the accompaniment of the temple drums and was led into the sanctum sanctorum. He stood in front of the main deity for nearly ten minutes and paid his obeisance.
Prominent among others who received him include the TTD chairman D. K. Audikesavulu, executive officer K.V.Ramanachary, chief vigilance and security officer Ramana kumar, Tirumala-based TTD special officer A.V. Dharma Reddy, Collector Ravi Chandra, district police chief Lakshmi Reddy, dputy executive officer (Temple) Siddiah and other officials.
Winding up his thirty minutes programme he motored down to Tirupati to preside over the three-day seminar on ‘National Mission on Education Through Information and Communication Technology’ sponsored by the ministry of Human Resource Development.
