To lay stone for tourism works at Siddhavatam
Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy will tour Kadapa district from January 23 to 25.
Dr. Reddy will arrive at Pulivendula at 12.30 p.m. on January 23 and will leave for Peddamandem in Thamballapalle Assembly constituency in Chittoor district at 2.30 p.m. to take part in official programmes, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Thursday. He would return for a night halt to Idupulapaya.
The Chief Minister would inaugurate the eco-park developed by the Forest Department at Idupulapaya at 9 a.m. on January 24.
Later he would fly to Siddhavatam to inaugurate the high-level bridge across Pennar River built at a cost of Rs. 16 crore and lay foundation stone for tourism development works at the ancient Siddhavatam fort under the Heritage Tourism Circuit development by A.P. Tourism Development Corporation.
Dr. Reddy would participate in several official programmes in Kadapa on January 24 and return to Idupulapaya for a night halt. He would participate in official programmes at Pulivendula on January 25 and leave for Hyderabad the same afternoon, the Collector said.
Directive to officials
Mr. Krishna Babu also directed officials to complete a survey on 28 tourism projects to be developed in the district by providing basic facilities for tourists under Heritage Tourism development scheme.
Tenders for the tourism development works would be finalized by March 31 after holding meetings with public and local body representatives concerned, he said.
Works on Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta, Gandikota and Srikanta Malleswara Swamy temple in the native village of poetess Molla would be executed by the Panchayat Raj Engineering Department and the Siddhavatam fort by APTDC’s engineering wing,
A guesthouse costing Rs. 1 crore, development of parks, vehicle parking and other facilities for touristswould are developed at Siddhavatam fort, Mr. Krishna Babu said.
He promised to discuss with Dr. Reddy Reddy widening of the road to Siddhavatam village to 60 feet.
