YSR’s roadshow in rural areas today
He will address meetings, launch schemes
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will kick off his roadshows in rural areas of the district on Sunday.
The route map is finalised in such a way that he will cover most of the places where actor and Praja Rajya president Chiranjeevi had attracted huge crowds during his Praja Ankita Yatra.
Dr. Reddy will address several meetings as part of his ‘nagara baata’ at Anakapalle and ‘palle baata’ in other areas in between Anakapalle and Narsipatnam.
The Chief Minster will launch several developmental schemes at an estimated cost of Rs. 100 crores. Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for his visit due to threat from Maoists. Tangedu, where he will spend the night, is close to the Agency area.
According to the minute-to-minute programme, the Chief Minister will reach here by a private airliner at 9.05 a.m. and meet various delegations.
Later, he will proceed to Anakapalle, where he will be given a civic reception on arrival at 9.50 a.m. Dr. Reddy will unveil the statue of Konathala Subramanyam, father of Minister Konathala Ramakrishna and felicitate former MLA P. Govinda Rao and ex-MLC P.V. Chalapathi Rao. At Ring Road junction and NTR market yard, he will lay stone for Rajiv Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi statues. He will launch work on construction of three barrages across the Sarada with an outlay of Rs.40 crores.
A rail overbridge at Kasimkota at a cost of Rs.21 crores, widening of road between Anakapalle and Chodavaram, widening of road between Anakapalle Ring Road and Kasimkota and Bangarametta were some of the important projects to be launched by Dr. Reddy.
Mr. Ramakrishna, who represents Anakapalle in the Assembly, has made all-out efforts for making the first public meeting at Nehru Chowk a big success. This will be Dr. Reddy’s first pre-poll roadshow in the district after which he will address a meeting at Venkannapalem junction in Chodavaram mandal.
The Chief Minister will lay stone for modernisation of Govada Cooperative Sugars at 12.45 p.m. His route will include RTC Complex junction via Kothuru junction, Vaddadi in Butchayyapeta, Ravikamatham, Rolugunta, Peda Boddepalli and Narsipatnam. He will launch several works on way to Narsipatnam. He will wind up his daylong programme at Tangedu in Kotavarutla and leave for Prakasam district on Monday morning.
YSR to launch 104 services today
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy will launch mobile health service 104 in the district at Anakapalle on Sunday.
District Medical and Health Officer J. Sarojini told reporters on Saturday that Dr. Reddy would flag off 104 vehicles at NTR market yard at 11 a.m. In the first batch, 11 vehicles were provided.
The hospital-on-wheels will be available in rural villages, 3 km beyond the limits of primary health centres, at designated place and dates. The vehicles will be equipped with facilities to conduct urine and blood tests, distribute medicines to patients and guide patients to referral hospitals. The vehicles will have computers with Internet, one pharmacist, lab technician and data entry operator and three ANMs. In future, it will offer telemedicine.
The scheme, known as fixed day health service, has already become a big hit in some districts after overwhelming response to Rajiv Arogyasri health camps.
The service will be available from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The 104 service is being offered jointly by the State Government and Satyam Computers.
